TTS Product Review: Wooden resources for babies
After a few delays the opening date for the new nursery is now starting to feel like it’s just around the corner. There is a lot to prepare on the lead up to a nursery opening apart from building a good team and making sure they know each other well, paper work must be in place and the staff fully trained to start. In the back ground there is purchasing all the equipment and making sure you have enough resources to get start, never easy on a small nurseries budget. Making sure you start with good quality resources will not only last you a long time but will stand out to parents and help support their decision when you have yet to build a reputation.
This month I have been focusing on the equipment needed for the 0-1 and 1-2 rooms. I had in mind wooden equipment which would sit nicely in an open basket at the children’s height. Check out the products below to see what caught my eye!
Shake, rattle rollers
‘Babies and toddlers love playing with these delightful shakers. Designed specifically for little hands to grasp, shake and roll. There are 6 designs including a variety of different beads, shapes and buttons chosen to appeal aesthetically as well as make a noise.
The shakers have wooden ends with an acrylic centre so contents can be clearly seen as they tumble and move around. Use for free play, treasure baskets or as an accompaniment to songs and rhymes.‘ TTS Group
I loved the idea of these little shakers, yes your right you could make your own discovery bottles for next to nothing but these shaker are safer for one and also look like quality toys which will last a long time. When they arrived in our house they were instantly used as a construction toy by the toddlers. the children loved to build them up or have rolling races across the floor. The size of these shakers are perfect for little hands measuring at a 9 cm tall and light weight too.
You can find a link to the shakers here.
Wooden Treasure Cylinders
‘Babies and toddlers love playing with these delightful rollers. Roll them, shake them, twist and turn them. Study the contents as they roll, float, sparkle and bounce. Designs include vibrant colourful beads, sparkling shapes and textured buttons chosen to appeal aesthetically as well as to make a noise.
Ideal for sensory and exploration activities. The shakers are crafted from superb quality wood with an acrylic centre so that contents can be clearly seen as they tumble and move around. Use for free play, rolling or as an accompaniment to songs and rhymes.’ TTS Group
I loved these rollers. They are a great size for the babies to move back wards and forward across the floor to help the become more mobile. The rollers are filled with a variety of bright, vibrant loose pieces to grab the children’s attention and make a noise as the toys are rolled across the floor. although they are larger the could still sit poking out of the bowl/basket.
I love the thought of these being presented on low furniture for the children. TTS have a great range of low units some incorporating mirrors to reflect the sun and invite the children to look at the reflection of their play.
You can find the wooden rollers Here.
