Baking Ideas for Mothers Day

Every year I try to teach the children that showing some one you love them does not need to involve money. Because of this I like to spend the time before Mothers and Fathers day making gifts for my parents and for the children to make some thing if they want to for us. For my mum this usually involves picking something from Baking Mad mothers day recipes. They have tons of free ideas to choose from and the children love to look through and pick an idea. The children love handing over their home made gifts to their nannies and are always really proud of what they have achieved.

Last year we wrapped up a beautiful gift box of home made cake pops. My mum doesn't live local so things like cake pops are great to pop in the post as long as they are well wrapped. With my special alternative to frosting they will even last up to 31 days which means I can send them well in advance. I have found these home made gifts are much better received then a bunch of flowers or jewellery.

We also made some of Baking Mads Mothers day cupcakes last year for my mothering law. The great thing about this was that I could make a set of 6 and the children used the rest to decorate for me. This year we plan to make fudge, wrap it in some paper chase tissue paper then box it up ready to post. The children have asked to make cards for each of their nan's and these will be posted along with their gifts.

If your after ideas for the year why not make a home made photo frame with card, decorate a mug with sharpies or check out the Baking Mads website to find an easy step by step recipe.
